How Can Counselling Help?

Counselling is widely used to treat all forms of anxiety, depression, stress, low self esteem and a range of other emotional and mental health issues.

I specialise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which is a highly effective, evidence-based talking therapy based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings and actions are all connected.

It helps us to understand the unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviours which are impacting our mood, thus enabling us to develop skills and strategies to improve our wellbeing.

Sessions in person at various locations throughout the south side of Glasgow, or if you prefer, we can arrange to meet online. Cost per session £50.00.

Counselling in Glasgow

What to expect when you contact me:

I understand from personal experience, how scary making the first step towards counselling can be. To try and make things easier, I offer a free, no obligation 10-15 minute phone call, where you can ask any questions you have and where I can get an idea of what is troubling you. This gives you a chance to gauge whether or not you feel comfortable enough to work with me and for me to ascertain whether I have the appropriate knowledge and experience to help you.

Before our first session I will email you a contract which explains practical issues, such as confidentiality, cancellation procedures and payment. I may also send you a questionnaire to measure your current wellbeing - to give us a baseline to start from. Our first session will be an assessment, where we will explore what you hope to gain from therapy and set some goals.

During further sessions we will work together, at a pace which feels right to you, to help you identify unhelpful patterns, challenge negative thinking, and build healthier, more balanced ways of coping with life’s challenges. Sessions in person at various locations throughout the south side of Glasgow, or if you prefer, we can arrange to meet online. Cost per session £50.00 - contact us to book an appointment.

Experience & Previous Work Roles Throughout Glasgow

I have many years of experience working within the social care sector and counselling in Glasgow, having previously worked with Victim Support Scotland, Scottish Cot Death Trust, Quarriers and Renfrewshire Council Throughcare. These roles have allowed me to support people through a wide variety of life challenges, including drug and alcohol addictions; eating disorders; domestic abuse; bereavement; as well as past and present traumatic events.

As the parent of two adult neuro diverse daughters, I have a personal understanding of the challenges faced by both individuals with ADHD and/or ASD, and wider family members.

I believe therapy should feel supportive, practical, and empowering. I offer a safe and non-judgmental space where we work together to understand patterns, build resilience, and create positive change.

You don’t have to face things alone so if you're ready to take the first step, it would be a privilege to work alongside you throughout your journey of self-discovery and empowerment.
