Lorna Waddell - CBT Therapist

Qualified with a diploma in counselling and groupwork – a CBT approach from The Centre of Therapy in Glasgow.

Hello, I'm Lorna,

I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, having gained a Diploma in Counselling and Groupwork – A CBT Approach from The Centre of Therapy in Glasgow. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), work within their ethical framework, and am fully insured.

Experience & Previous Work Roles

Over the years I have worked within the social care sector with organisations including Victim Support Scotland, Scottish Cot Death Trust, Quarriers and Renfrewshire Council Throughcare. These roles have given me extensive experience supporting people through a wide range of life's challenges, including bereavement, domestic abuse, addiction, eating disorders, trauma, loss and significant life changes.

My approach is collaborative, practical and compassionate. I believe therapy should not only provide a safe space to talk, but also help you gain a better understanding of yourself and develop tools that support lasting change. Together we can explore unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour, build confidence, and find new ways of responding to life's difficulties.

I work with people experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, loss of confidence, overthinking, low mood, life transitions, bereavement or who are simply feeling overwhelmed or uncertain.

As the parent of two neurodiverse adult daughters, I also have a personal understanding of some of the challenges faced by individuals with ADHD and ASD, as well as the impact these experiences can have on family members.

Whether you're struggling with a specific problem, feeling stuck, or trying to make sense of a difficult period in your life, therapy can provide the space and support needed to move forward.

Find balance, build confidence, and create lasting change — one thought at a time.
